The Sleepsafe Mission 18/19 –

Register Your Church’s Interest to Host a Week

With increased support and greater success in helping rough sleepers into accommodation during Sleepsafe this year, we are aiming to host our new Sleepsafe Mission 2018 – 19 for six months.  With existing and new churches hosting Sleepsafe for one whole week at a time.

We are calling all churches in Bournemouth interested in hosting Sleepsafe for a week in 2018/19 to book their interest now on Eventbrite.

*Closing date to register your interest is 29th May 2018

Benefits for churches:

  • Improve relationships between church and rough sleepers

  • Increase opportunity to demonstrate and share the gospel

  • Improve inter-church working (Buddy teams / working in partnership)

Benefits to our guests:

  • Better Health – not having to walk miles to a different venue each night *

  • Burden-free – leaving bags at the church rather than carrying them all day helps reduce stigma surrounding rough-sleeping

  • Stay Safe Activities – access to local church and buddy teams during daytimes

  • Improve trust between guests and the church/their community

  • Improve engagement with professional services and potential ‘Move-on’ possibilities

* The average stay in Sleepsafe for a guest is 3 weeks. With a different venue each night, guests had to ‘move home’ 21 times last year. At a weekly venue, the same guest would only have to move 3 times.

If you are interested in this new and exciting mission, please register as soon as possible and we will be in touch the first week in June! God bless & thank you!
