Debt is a heavy burden to bear – it affects everything. So, we not only work with people to make sense of their finances, and help them build a debt repayment plan, but we also give them ways that they can gain control and prevent future crisis
We are a Community Money Advice (CMA) centre, part of a national network and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Here are the four steps of the journey we make with our clients:
ACT: Debt Advice
As a registered and licensed Community Money Advice Centre in Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch, we are able to support clients who have debt problems and negotiate with creditors on their behalf.
STABILISE: Budget Coaching
Money Matters supports those who are in need of support with their financial paperwork. Our Personal Budget Coaches support clients with their paperwork, helping them create a realistic budget and develop financial skills, encouraging them to live debt free lives.
PREVENT: Money Management Courses
We run workshops across the conurbation to strengthen people’s understanding of how to make more of their money. Information is given about benefits entitlement, money-saving ideas, financial and pension support that is available and useful contacts.
TRAIN: Training the local teams in the community
Our goal is for there to be a team of front-line Budget Coaches in every community across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch. If your church, Foodbank, or community centre has 2-3 volunteers, give us a call and we’ll come and train them up.
