As part of the referral process, each Sleepsafe user was asked to self-assess their safety, health, food and housing state, plus the support and motivation that they had. They were then asked to identify some specific actions that they wanted to take to help them move on from the street (and to change those scores).
Every guest at Sleepsafe continued, if appropriate, to engage with accommodation support through the rough-sleeper drop-in and SP Hub (Bournemouth council). In addition, at least 3 days each week appointments were held at the new “Half-time centre” (a partnership with YMCA chaplaincy team) to go through the progress of the action plan that each guest agreed when they came into Sleepsafe.
We did this using a “Half-time” model: offering a chance to assess the first “half” of their life and then over a “half-time team talk” look at what could be different in their remaining years (“second half”)
