Job Title: Faithworks CMA Debt Advisor
Line Manager: Life Centres Project Manager, Faithworks
Hours: 16 hours per week (with the option of splitting the role between 2 people)
Salary: £10 per hour (equivalent to full-time salary of £21,860) plus 6% employer contribution to pension
Closing Date: Sunday 31 January 2021
Our goal is simple – we want to see people free from debt, so that they can “live life to the full”.
The Faithworks Wessex Community Money Advice (FWCMA) project provides support to clients who are experiencing debt problems and financial difficulties. We are part of the national Community Money Advice network which means we are able to function as debt advisors, compliant and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The project is entering a new phase whereby each of our Food Banks/Life Centres will now have a CMA team (debt advisors and personal budget coaches) as part of their overall support. The core team (client support, volunteer support, prevention lead) are all experienced debt advisors. But as one of the team moves to the prevention work in college, schools etc. we need to bolster the teams’ debt advice capacity. This is especially essential with the forecast rise in the numbers of people facing financial problems as furlough ends and redundancies grow. We therefore have funding for a year’s post for one (or possibly two) trained advisors to help us meet the likely extra demand for help.
